EXPECTATION REDUCES JOY

This is a joy tip I’ve had many years of working on. It is truly amazing how maintaining the fine balance of asking and surrendering without hanging onto the outcome is relevant to sustaining joy. Every time I am so personally invested in my outcomes, then I re-learn this lesson, when it doesn’t live UP to my expectations – I’m disappointed and my joy is greatly reduced.
So dear joy friends, we shall continue to ask, to envision, pray, hope and then we shall let go… and keep completely open to the present and the eventual outcome.
It’s inspired what we’re able to appreciate when we let go and take a healthy deep look into this wonderful gift – the present.
True happiness is to understand our duties toward God and man; to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence on the future; not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears, but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is abundantly sufficient. Seneca

That all said – I expect a lot more joy for you all – shortly – especially if you listen to the podcast and today’s joy exercise… teehee
