Solution orientation a great JOY
What if… instead of wasting time on focusing on the problems, we all put our genius to creating solutions… what if we all chose to be part of the solution… Now that’s an inspired thought…
Jaime Lerner, Mayor of Brazilian city – Curitiba in 1980’s was fed up with the lack of solution to the obvious waste problems in the flavelas (local slums) & instead of being stuck, he thought out of the box. He positioned large bins at the edge of neighborhoods, labeled for glass, plastic, paper & biodegradable material. Anyone arriving with pre-sorted rubbish was given a bus token. The children picked the slums clean, their folks used the tokens to travel to work & swiftly the system moved into even greater support, with tokens for food & school books being given too… this system is still used as a supportive currency in 2 thirds of homes in the city.
Now that just one of many inspired stories that exist when we use our God given ability of thought towards something productive… and solutions are especially apt when they are win win for all…
