Support a Female learner in South Africa

Schools face significant challenges in providing sanitary products to female learners, leading to high absenteeism rates (up to 30% ), with many missing 3–7 days of school monthly.

Key issues

  • Sanitary products can be seen as unaffordable as families prioritise food and essentials
  • Toilets are unsafe, broken or lack water
  • Lack of proper disposal facilities results in young girls feeling embarrassed and they avoid school
  • Stigma and shame around menstruation make it harder to ask for help

We exist to ensure every girl has the products, facilities, and support she needs to succeed at school — every day of the month.

How we help:

  • Provide free menstrual products to learners
  • Install safe toilets and disposal units in schools.
  • Train teachers and learners on menstrual health & hygiene education.
  • Foster community awareness to break the stigma
